Teachers' professional development

Agape Children's Family gives you an opportunity to visit Uganda and experience first hand what we do. You can change a life by sharing your skills and resources. We welcome you on this life-changing journey to Uganda and enjoy an opportunity to make meaningful contributions to Children in Uganda. Below are some of the teams proposed by I Am Family to visit. Contact info@agapechildrensfamily.orgfor more details.

Education Teams:

Get involved in the education of children, equipping them with social, spiritual abilities and life experiences.

You can also participate in the development of the infrastructure attached to these projects like painting, landscaping, general maintenance of the children’s home and more.

Medical Teams:

If you are a health professional, you may want to get a team together to help improve medical care for the children in Uganda. These teams participate in helping to meet the medical needs of children and women under our care. You can also come and provide health education and training of the staff and community and facilitate outreach clinic for I Am Children’s Home.

Pastors & Church Ministers:

If you desire to minister to the hearts of those who are less fortunate through discipleship, social work, or prison ministry, we would love to work with you.

Media Team:

If your gift is to tell stories and share them through visual effects and photos, we welcome you to create a team and visit us in Uganda. This will give you an opportunity to visit some of the slums where many of the children we support live. This program also involves teaching and mentoring children and youth in Uganda who have dreams to become film makers and photographers.

COST AND DURATION

Base Trip Cost: $1,850 + airfare, per person
This cost reflects an 8 day, 8 night trip with FAMILY MINISTRIES. For variations of trip length, the cost will change +/- $75 per day as adjusted from the 8 days. This trip cost will only be applied to teams greater than 4 people and serving more than 4 days. Trips that do not meet these requirements will have a custom built trip budget. Given a number of variables and your team’s goals for the trip, I Family Ministries will create a budget that is tailored to each team member.

Starting point

Engaging with educational experts, we uncovered what the most fundamental tools are for trainee teachers. This included how much time was required for training.

Support from local communities

By listening, engaging, and understanding exactly what was needed to empower educators in Haiti, we were able to equip 48 teachers with the necessary skills to use in the classroom.
